Poem No. 15, 30th november 2024
The Home I left behind
Is the softer edge of a sword I sheathed
One that pervades my world louder than my words
Yet whose handle I wield in silence
When the phantom memories rain on me
But the house still calls out
Fanfaidh mé! Fanfaidh mé…*
I will wait as well – until the time traveller loops back
Healing us from a door closed to love
The Home I left behind
Is the cradle of a sweet sixteenth
It hides beneath the colder clouds
In patience and candour, dropping silver linings
In hope that our Star filament will rejoin
Even when the house calls out
Fanfaidh mé! Fanfaidh mé…*
I will wait as well – until our stories unravel
Healing us from the fractures of our bond.
*I will wait in irish
